What’s In Your Bag? — The Tech Director

There are those guys in the office who give you scornful looks when you ask simple questions. They toss around unrecognizable words and thrive in making you feel stupid.

10/10 times those guys are Tech guys. They drink bucket loads of coffee by the hour (and think it’s a personality type). They grunt their responses and snicker when you tell them the RAM in your laptop is doing the thing.

See, they know you don’t know anything about your laptop or PC. So with all the smugness in the world, they will come round your desk and ask you what the problem is. And even before you are halfway done explaining, they will press a few keys and your laptop, just like the embarrassing sidekick it’s meant to be, will come to life. Leaving you feeling, well, stupid.

With all this knowledge in their bags, (slaps knee) you would think a Tech Director would understand the assignment. Because ideally, the “What’s in My Bag?” series was meant to be a series of talking to different folks in our office and finding out the different TOOLS they use on a daily and cannot live without.

However, Tech guys will always be Tech guys…and our Tech Director took the question to literally mean what is in his backpack and those are the answers he gave. (Lol)

That said, he did do the assignment, and in his own words, this is what is in his bag…

14-Inch x360 Hewlett Packard Pavilion Laptop

Meet my 14-inch Laptop (it’s my baby, ok one of my babies). One thing I love about my backpack is the waterproof laptop compartment. I’m someone that gets caught in the rain without an umbrella, so having my laptop in a waterproof case is amazing. The machine runs Linux to give it a bit more juice and as a developer, it’s a must-have.

Bamboo Cover Notebook

I carry a notebook with me wherever I go. I love writing down different ideas, thoughts or updating my to-do list. There’s something about physically writing down your thoughts that you can’t do digitally with a Google Calendar.

Chargers

Next up are all of my chargers. I have a laptop charger, a headphone charger, and a phone charger. I’ve tried a lot of different external chargers and a lot of them last for a few months and then completely glitch out. It’s been highly reliable and I don’t know how I’ve gone so long without one.

Pace Live II HeadPhones & Phone Earphones

Music helps me concentrate and the louder, crisper and clearer the better. You can never go wrong with Pace Headsets. The option of having both Bluetooth and the cord is excellent since you don’t need to worry about the set’s charge level. The earphones are utilized every morning and evening during the commute to and from work. Since I exercise in the evening, my sessions are always lively.

Rounding it up…

A few other small items to round up my daily essentials are hand sanitizer, extra masks (just in case) Depending on some days, I will also have a camera or a portable Bluetooth speaker. This bag can hold a lot more in the different compartments, but this is what’s in my backpack today!

Now that you are done reading all that, we found a little something on YouTube that will put a smile on your face.
