Wine’s no longer a beverage for the fussiest of people. It’s also no longer a word that is associated with the pickiest of people. While it’s true that not everyone has taken to wine with zeal, it certainly isn’t an image that suits all people who drink it either. Wine drinkers have come a long way and have now entered the 21st century where drinking wine has become a sophisticated and sometimes expensive pleasure.

That said, are you a wine drinker? Have you ever asked what wine you are? Or wondered about the specific wines that align with your personality. If so, this blog is for you!

Full-Bodied Red Wines: Cabernet Sauvignon

Full-bodied Red Wines possess an aroma that resembles various spices, leather, and dark fruits, such as sour cherries. This is a result of the fermentation process that usually starts with skinned dark red grapes. The resulting wine may be then stored in oak barrels which makes for more tannins and a richer aroma. This can be described as ‘a powerful wine’

Personality type: Bold and Refined

The people who prefer full-bodied wines such as the Cabernet Sauvignon can be described as detail-oriented, classy, and love to explore. They are the type of people to command attention once they step into a room but have also no qualms, sitting back and letting life flow.

This wine is best served with: A hearty steak.

Medium Bodied Red Wines: Merlot

Best known for being a great accompaniment to almost any food. Typically, medium-bodied red wines have pepper notes, moderate acidity, a medium amount of tannin, and a fruity aroma.

Personality type: Empathetic and Responsible

Drinkers of this wine can be best described as empaths. They pay attention to other people’s needs, emotions, and motives. Merlot drinkers are not only social but are also facilitators in any group situation.

Light Bodied Red Wines: Pinot Noir

Usually made from brighter, thinner red grapes and have the least amount of tannins. Light-bodied red wines can be described as delicate tasting, light in tannins with bright acidity.

Full-Bodied White Wines: Chardonnay

Full-bodied white wines are set apart by distinct vanilla and coconut notes. These wines usually have undergone aging in oak barrels and also a second fermentation. Full-bodied white wines can also be a bit costly because they are usually aged for quite some time.

Personality Type: Big and loud

Chardonnay drinkers often get a bad rap. Just like the wine which can be unsubtle and overly rich, Chardonnay drinkers tend to have big, loud personalities almost bordering on obnoxious. While drinking with them, let them lead and carry the conversation.

Best served with: Rich buttery foods like lobster.

Medium Bodied White Wines: Riesling

Riesling wines are considered one of the rarest white wines in the world. With its flavor profiles varying from sweet to very dry depending on the grapes. Rieslings are known to be an amazing pair of spicy foods.
